Basketball Recap: Abbi Clark's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hillcrest over Stansbury

Hillcrest lost a heartbreaker to Stansbury when they met back in December of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Huskies fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 34-32. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Stallions: they've now lost eight in a row.

Hillcrest's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbi Clark, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Sam Sebahar, who earned six points in addition to 15 rebounds and four steals.

Stansbury's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Christensen, who scored eight points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Lufkin, who put up five points and three steals.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Stansbury, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Hillcrest has already played their next matchup, a 55-25 defeat against Skyline on the 25th. As for Stansbury, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-21 loss against Ogden on the 25th.
