Steinbrenner (Lutz, Fla.) took the lead for good when
Quentin Poteralski ran for a touchdown with 9:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Wiregrass Ranch (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) 27-20 on Saturday.
After nabbing the lead on a field goal by
Bryce Wilson, the Bulls went into halftime with a 17-7 lead. The Warriors took the lead for good with a Poteralski touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
Steinbrenner also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 48-10.
The loss comes after Wiregrass Ranch defeated Ridgewood 37-14 last week. The win was a nice bounce back for SHS, which lost to Wharton last week, 45-28. The win broke Steinbrenner's three-game losing streak.
Wiregrass Ranch (3-4) goes up against Sickles in a 7A District 7 game matchup next week, while Steinbrenner (2-5) locks horns with Freedom also in a 7A District 7 game.
