Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Isaac Baker and Chase Pond Lead Victory Christian to Victory

There's no place like home for Victory Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Marion Rams by a score of 21-12 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Victory Christian was led to victory by Chase Pond and Isaac Baker. Pond rushed for 83 yards and one score, while Baker rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Victory Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win got Victory Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Marion, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Victory Christian will venture away from home to challenge Winterboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Linden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
