Basketball Recap: Chaputnguak Piles Up the Points Against Nelson Island

Chaputnguak came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Nelson Island Islanders 58-30. The Shaman have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 28 points or more this season.

Nelson Island's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Acelyn Moses, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Angaiak, who scored 13 points.

Chaputnguak's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Nelson Island, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Chaputnguak nor Nelson Island have any future games scheduled.
