The Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams will face off against the Old Colony RVT Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Upper Cape Cod RVT: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Old Colony RVT has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Upper Cape Cod RVT came out on top against Cape Cod RVT on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Rams walked away with an 11-8 win over the Crusaders.
Amaya Irving spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Rosalie Neville was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenley Thomas, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Upper Cape Cod RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Old Colony RVT made easy work of South Shore Vo-Tech on Friday and carried off a 16-1 victory. Considering the Cougars have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Old Colony RVT also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Sharon Delancey gave up a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. Delancey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Old Colony RVT got a massive performance out of Lindsay Sumner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Abby Norton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Upper Cape Cod RVT's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Old Colony RVT, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Upper Cape Cod RVT has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Old Colony RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Upper Cape Cod RVT got the 'W' when the teams last played last Wednesday against Old Colony RVT by a conclusive 22-16 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
