Basketball Recap: Aurora Starts off Right with Win over Adams Central

Aurora took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They came out on top against the Adams Central Patriots by a score of 59-49. The Huskies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

Ryan Staehr went supernova, putting up 18 points. Those 18 points gave him a new career-high. Brooks Handrup was another key player, earning 12 points.

Adams Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brodie Luksan, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Nepple, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Aurora wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-43 defeat against Wahoo on the 6th. As for Adams Central, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-52 victory against York on the 5th.
