Volleyball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Covenant Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Hanson Memorial on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Houma Christian Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Covenant Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21, 15-12.

Houma Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison Billiot out in front who had 26 digs and two aces. Those 26 digs gave Billiot a new career-high. Riley Folse was another key player, getting nine digs and two aces.

Covenant Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 23-14. As for Houma Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Covenant Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge South Terrebonne at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Houma Christian, they will welcome Centerville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
