Football Recap: Lincoln County Comes Up Short

Lincoln County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 46-0 loss at the hands of the Wayne Pioneers. The Panthers lost against the Pioneers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 20-6 score last time.

Jack Shull threw for 58 yards on 11 of 24 attempts. David Stephens was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards. On the ground, Blade Adkins rushed for 33 yards.

Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Wayne, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will face off against Nitro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Wayne, they will challenge Tug Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 37 points per game this season.
