Preview: Miramar Patriots vs. Cooper City Cowboys
The Miramar Patriots will be playing at home against the Cooper City Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Miramar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Miramar came up short against Stranahan and fell 56-47. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Miramar in their matchups with Stranahan: they've now lost five in a row.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Joshua Skinner and David Nealy. Nealy had a solid game and scored eight points along with two blocks. Meanwhile, Skinner did his best for the losing side, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Cooper City posted their biggest win since December 12, 2023 on Wednesday. They blew past Hollywood Hills 68-43. Given Cooper City's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Hollywood Hills is ranked 600th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Miramar's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Cooper City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Miramar might still be hurting after the 59-37 defeat they got from Cooper City in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Miramar have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
