Recap: Casa Roble Rams vs. Pioneer Patriots
The Casa Roble Rams waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Pioneer by a score of 66-53. Given Casa Roble's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while Pioneer is ranked 1027th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Casa Roble got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Benny Ambriz out in front who scored 24 points. The game was Ambriz's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Travis Remly was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Casa Roble has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Pioneer, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Casa Roble will take on Mesa Verde at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pioneer, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rio Linda at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Rio Linda is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
