Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Pride vs. Loudoun Valley Vikings

Heritage hasn't had much luck against Loudoun Valley recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Heritage Pride will venture away from home to take on the Loudoun Valley Vikings at 7:15 p.m. One thing working in Heritage's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

On Saturday, Heritage beat Stone Bridge 55-47.

Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Phoenix as they made off with a 58-36 victory. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Phoenix are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loudoun Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Heritage came up short against Loudoun Valley when the teams last played back in January, falling 54-44. Can Heritage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
