Basketball Recap: Orange Vista Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Orange Vista extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Henry Washington. The Orange Vista Coyotes took down the Moreno Valley Vikings 61-42 on Thursday thanks in part to Washington, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 20 points and six steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played.

Eric Wooten was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Moreno Valley lost, don't look at Jamall Thompson. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points.

Orange Vista is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Moreno Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.

Orange Vista will welcome Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Orange Vista surely won't give up without a fight. As for Moreno Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-20 win against Heritage on the 18th.
