Baseball Recap: Madera South's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Madera South can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past the Firebaugh Eagles 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Stallions also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.

Victor Palomino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Palomino wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

The victory got Madera South back to even at 1-1. As for Firebaugh, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Madera South is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on Madera at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Firebaugh, they will square off against Minarets at 9:00 a.m. on March 8th.
