Basketball Game Preview: Greenon Knights vs. Madison Plains Golden Eagles

The Greenon Knights will challenge the Madison Plains Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Madison Plains took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Greenon, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Greenon turned things around against Greeneview on Saturday. They secured a 62-56 W over the Rams.

Meanwhile, Madison Plains was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 57-44 to Fairbanks. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 797th, while the Panthers are ranked 135th).

Madison Plains' loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Greenon, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Greenon came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison Plains in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 44-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
