Basketball Game Preview: Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons vs. Jesup J-Hawks

Aplington-Parkersburg and Jesup are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Jesup J-Hawks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Aplington-Parkersburg will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Dike-New Hartford, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Aplington-Parkersburg snuck past Dike-New Hartford with a 38-32 victory on Friday.

Meanwhile, Jesup had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-20 win over the Knights. That looming 60-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the J-Hawks yet this season.

Jesup pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Aplington-Parkersburg, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Aplington-Parkersburg strolled past Jesup in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 54-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aplington-Parkersburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
