Basketball Recap: Hillman Comes Up Short

Hillman played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 52-26 to the Au Gres-Sims Wolverines. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Au Gres-Sims' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Fox, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Fox has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last nine times she's played. Analeis Ming was another key player, going 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points along with eight assists and seven steals.

Hillman's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Au Gres-Sims, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Hillman will welcome Rogers City at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Au Gres-Sims, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hale at 7:20 p.m. on Monday.
