Basketball Game Preview: Alexandria-Monroe Tigers vs. Lapel Bulldogs

Alexandria-Monroe hasn't had much luck against Lapel recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Alexandria-Monroe Tigers will be playing at home against the Lapel Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Alexandria-Monroe is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Mississinewa on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Alexandria-Monroe had to suffer through a 62-32 loss at the hands of Mississinewa. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lapel had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 52-45.

Lapel has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Alexandria-Monroe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Alexandria-Monroe was taken down by Lapel 87-53 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Alexandria-Monroe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
