Oxnard and Pacifica are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Oxnard Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pacifica Tritons at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Oxnard came up short against Pacifica and fell 5-1. The loss continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Tritons: they've now lost four in a row.

Jerry Gonzales spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Oxnard saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Moreau, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Moreau has posted since back in April of 2024.

Pacifica pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oxnard, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
