Benton stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over the St. Pius X Warriors. The win was just what Benton needed coming off of a 7-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Treigh Nowak and Carson Schmidt did most of the damage at the plate: Nowak scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Schmidt scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Myles Bachali, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI.
Benton's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for St. Pius X, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
Benton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 win vs. Ozark on the 29th.
