Volleyball Recap: Northwest Vikings vs. Aurora Huskies

Northwest entered their tilt with Aurora on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Huskies back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.
Northwest easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20.
Elli Payne paced Northwest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Payne got some help from Kenna Bowman and her 19 assists. Maleigh Avila controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Despite the loss, Aurora still got an impressive performance from Trinity Uhrmacher, who had ten digs.
Northwest's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Aurora, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.
Coming up, Northwest will head out to square off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aurora, after both having extra time off, they and Lexington will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another on Thursday. The Huskies are facing the Minutemen at the right time seeing as the Minutemen are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
