Football Recap: Raymond/South Bend Starts off Right with Win over Mossyrock + How To Watch

Raymond/South Bend had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Mossyrock Vikings for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-8 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Ravens also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Chris Banker was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 177 yards and three scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Those 177 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Manny Becerra-Souza, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Raymond/South Bend was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 345 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 221 rushing yards in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Becerra-Souza, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Coming up, Raymond/South Bend will venture away from home to square off against Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mossyrock, they will host Warden at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
