Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Hawks vs. Everett Alvarez Eagles

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Oakwood Hawks challenge the Everett Alvarez Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday... Oakwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Oakwood will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Carmel, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Oakwood snuck past Carmel with a 67-62 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Everett Alvarez posted their closest win since January 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Salinas, sneaking past 60-57. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Oakwood's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Everett Alvarez, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Oakwood, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-49 loss to Everett Alvarez in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Oakwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
