The Stratton Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the McClave Cardinals at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Stratton didn't have quite enough to beat Byers and fell 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Von Isenbart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, McClave fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Otis on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 19-8. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Kielan Mallard was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ryan Steinbrunn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. McClave is 5-1 when Steinbrunn posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Lawton Annen was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
Stratton's record now sits at 3-6. As for McClave, their record is now 8-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Stratton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like McClave struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Stratton took their victory against McClave when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
