Michigan City hasn't had much luck against Chesterton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wolves will challenge the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Michigan City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Michigan City will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Marquette Catholic on Monday. The Wolves put the hurt on the Blazers with a sharp 21-4 victory. The Wolves not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2024 (when they won 22-5).

Ann Sawyer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Chesterton let New Prairie stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Saturday but luckily Chesterton prevailed anyway. The Trojans skirted past the Cougars 9-8. The game was the first time the Trojans have beaten the Cougars on their field since May 13, 2021.

Lila Miller and Jillienne Pittman did most of the damage at the plate: Miller went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Pittman went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Miller's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Claire Demeter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Michigan City's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Chesterton, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
