Baseball Game Preview: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Pinecrest Patriots

Millbrook hasn't had much luck against Pinecrest recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Millbrook Wildcats will take on the Pinecrest Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Millbrook will be strutting in after a win while Pinecrest will be coming in after a loss.

Millbrook proved they can win big on Friday (they won by eight) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ragsdale a 2-0 shutout. The Wildcats' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Connor Wright was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Wright was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Wright is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Wright wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Smith Dickinson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pinecrest lost 18-4 to Apex Friendship on Friday.

Millbrook pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Pinecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
