Basketball Recap: Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They secured a 62-58 W over the East Juniata Tigers on Saturday. The WolfPack's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Foytack, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Stamm, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why East Juniata lost, don't look at Wrett Smith. Despite the final result, he went 12 of 25 on his way to 29 points along with eight assists and three steals. Smith's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Samuel Kopacki was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for East Juniata, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy will take on Newport in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Juniata and Midd-West will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
