Basketball Game Preview: Black Hills Wolves vs. River Ridge Hawks

The Black Hills Wolves will challenge the River Ridge Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Black Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Saturday with ease, bagging a 73-43 victory over Onalaska. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, River Ridge had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 61-32 stomp they got against the Tornados. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 29 points or more this season.

Black Hills is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for River Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Black Hills was able to grind out a solid victory over River Ridge in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, winning 64-51. Does Black Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will River Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
