Soccer Recap: West Port Takes a Loss

West Port fell victim to Vanguard and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Vanguard Knights, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Wolf Pack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Knights are ranked 181st).

West Port's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Vanguard, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-1-3 record this season.

West Port didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 5-1 victory against Dunnellon on the 9th. Vanguard has also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Forest on the 10th.
