Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Makyla Mandujano and Samiah Holley Lead Rio Vista to Victory

Rio Vista picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They strolled past the Stagg Delta Kings with points to spare, taking the game 52-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Rio Vista was led to victory by Samiah Holley and Makyla Mandujano. Holley dropped a triple-double with 17 points, 11 boards, and 13 steals, while Mandujano almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine steals. Thanks to that strong game, Mandujano now owns an excellent 47.1% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Caleigh Bloesch, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Rio Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Rio Vista's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Stagg, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Vista will welcome Napa at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Grizzlies' defense has only allowed 22 points per game this season, so the Rams' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Stagg, they will take on Tokay at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
