Basketball Game Preview: Blue Valley Northwest Huskies vs. Rockhurst Hawklets

The Blue Valley Northwest Huskies will square off against the Rockhurst Hawklets at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Blue Valley Northwest took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They came out on top against Center by a score of 59-47. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked eighth in Kansas, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 300th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Rockhurst entered their tilt with St. Xavier on Sunday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They strolled past the Bombers with points to spare, taking the game 56-40.

Rockhurst's win came from a few key players Blue Valley Northwest will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kemper Roberts, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Callen Eskew, who put up 13 points.

Blue Valley Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Rockhurst, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
