Hardee is 0-10 against DeSoto County since September of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Wildcats will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Monday, Hardee didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Placid and fell 3-2. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dragons 25-18 in the first set.
Hardee started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-12.
Meanwhile, DeSoto County didn't have quite enough to beat Palmetto on Thursday and fell 3-2.
DeSoto County actually scored more points across those five sets (102-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 16-25, 18-25, 25-22, 15-13.
Hardee will have to contain Avery Hancock as she made an impact in DeSoto County's last game. She had 13 digs and seven aces.
Hardee's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for DeSoto County, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
Hardee suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to DeSoto County in their previous matchup on September 2nd. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
