Basketball Recap: Eva Jaixen Key Part of a Team Effort in Rebels Win

Arcadia/Loup City hadn't done well against Doniphan-Trumbull recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels managed a 45-39 victory over the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered a 42-18 loss the last time these two teams met.

Arcadia/Loup City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eva Jaixen led the charge by putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Jaixen a new career-high in assists (four). Tayler Obermiller was another key player, going 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points and five boards.

Doniphan-Trumbull lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Charlee Richter, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 46.2% of Doniphan-Trumbull's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hoppe, who scored seven points along with eight boards and four steals.

Arcadia/Loup City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Doniphan-Trumbull, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
