Basketball Recap: Eldorado Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Eldorado on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-43 victory over the Johnston City Indians. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eldorado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drayson Grathler, who went 5 for 8 en route to 19 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Grathler a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jake Phelps, who posted 13 points.

Eldorado's victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-12. As for Johnston City, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Eldorado will be taking part in a tournament against Anna-Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johnston City, they and DuQuoin will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
