Football Game Preview: Springport Spartans vs. Hudson Tigers + How To Watch

The Springport Spartans will square off against the Hudson Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Springport is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against New Lothrop as they made off with a 35-13 win. The Spartans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Springport's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gibson Overweg, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 109 yards and one TD while completing 72.7% of his passes. What's more, Overweg posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September. Springport also got a significant boost from Kaden Woyame, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 161 yards.

Meanwhile, Hudson's offense rose to the challenge against a Chiefs defense that boasted an average of only 14.18 points allowed on Friday. The Tigers took their contest with ease, bagging a 50-20 victory over White Pigeon. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Chiefs are ranked 207th).

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Grayson Bills and Taylor Stewart. Bills had a great game and rushed for 168 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Stewart did his best for the losing side, rushing for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Hudson's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Springport, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
