Basketball Recap: Miami Beach Takes a Loss

Miami Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Doral Academy Firebirds, falling 61-30. The Hi-Tides were probably out for revenge after losing 73-43 to them when the teams met back in February of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Miami Beach's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nico James, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savion Bassil, who had four points and three steals.

Miami Beach's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Doral Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Miami Beach has already played their next matchup, a 72-62 win against Stoneman Douglas on the 21st. As for Doral Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-25 defeat against Boyd Anderson on the 20th.
