Basketball Recap: Smithson Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Smithson Valley needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight games and they got it from Wayne Jurica. The Smithson Valley Rangers strolled past the Tivy Antlers with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 75-59 thanks in part to Jurica, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Clemence, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

The victory got Smithson Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Tivy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Smithson Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-46 defeat against Veterans Memorial on the 3rd. As for Tivy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-49 loss against Boerne-Champion on the 3rd.
