Volleyball Game Preview: Laurel Spartans vs. DuVal Tigers

The Laurel Spartans will square off against the DuVal Tigers on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Laurel and four for DuVal.

On Monday, Laurel came up short against Wise and fell 3-1. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pumas 25-18 in the first set.

Laurel started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-13.

Meanwhile, DuVal lost 3-0 to Eleanor Roosevelt on Monday.

DuVal took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-15.

Laurel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for DuVal, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Laurel beat DuVal 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
