Basketball Recap: Murphysboro Falls to Johnston City in First Game of Season

Murphysboro had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. The game between the Red Devils and the Johnston City Indians didn't end well, with the Red Devils falling 45-27. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 38-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2018.

Coming up, Murphysboro will face off against Steeleville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johnston City, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
