Recap: El Dorado Golden Hawks vs. El Modena Vanguards
The El Dorado Golden Hawks waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They blew past El Modena 67-45. Given El Dorado's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Vanguards are ranked 691st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Dorado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Barker, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Andrew Salvador was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two blocks.
El Dorado's victory bumped their record up to 17-9. As for El Modena, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
El Dorado has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Foothill is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for El Modena, they will face off against the Comanches at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
