Football Recap: South Choctaw Academy Skates Past Crenshaw Christian Academy with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, South Choctaw Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars, posting a 64-18 victory. Considering the Rebels have won seven games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dawson Sikes went supernova, rushing for 85 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September. John Railey was in the mix as well, providing South Choctaw Academy with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Choctaw Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 360 rushing yards. They are 6-2 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

South Choctaw Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Railey and Gage Adams. Railey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the third in a row for South Choctaw Academy, bringing their record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points over those games. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Coming up, South Choctaw Academy will take on Patrician Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crenshaw Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
