Football Recap: Lena-Winslow's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lena-Winslow walked away with it. They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 43-14 win over the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Damian Rivera and Aiden Wild. Rivera gained 206 total yards while Wild rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Rivera a new career-high in rushing yards (193).

Lena-Winslow was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley only rushed for 18.

The victory (which was Lena-Winslow's ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points over those games. As for Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

As of now, neither Lena-Winslow nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
