St. Vincent-St. Mary faced Firestone in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Fighting Irish came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Fighting Irish sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

St. Vincent-St. Mary walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Firestone still got an impressive performance from Sir?Vontaye Wooldridge-Johnson, who had 13 digs and two aces. Rohan Gould also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

St. Vincent-St. Mary's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for Firestone, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Vincent-St. Mary is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Francis DeSales at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Firestone will face off against rival Brecksville-Broadview Heights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
