Basketball Recap: Battle Mountain's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Battle Mountain put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 39-29 win over the Pershing County Mustangs. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 37-26 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Battle Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noel Hill led the charge by putting up 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That's the most assists Hill has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Paitynn Johns, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Despite the loss, Pershing County still got an impressive performance from Kyra Cerni, who had 13 points and five rebounds. Cerni is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Battle Mountain's record is now 6-0. As for Pershing County, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Battle Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-17 win against Coral Academy of Science - Reno on the 14th. As for Pershing County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 35-25 victory against West Wendover on the 14th.
