Basketball Recap: Washington Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Washington had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Capuchino Mustangs 84-55. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 7th (when they won 76-10).

Washington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Coleman, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Will Peterson was another key player, shooting 89% from the field to rack up 21 points.

Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Capuchino lost, don't look at Matthew Alas. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-10 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bruce Wang, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 14 points.

Looking ahead, Washington will head out on the road to take on San Leandro at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Capuchino, they will host Lynbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
