Football Game Preview: Carlin Railroaders vs. Wells Leopards

The Carlin Railroaders will challenge the Wells Leopards at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carlin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Owyhee, who was ranked 16th at the time (Carlin was ranked fourth). The Railroaders blew past the Braves 48-8 on Friday. The Railroaders haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Dylan Ramirez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season. Tryston Martinez was another key back, rushing for 22 yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, after only six points in their last game, Wells made sure to put some points up on the board against Coleville on Saturday. The Leopards blew past the Wolves, posting a 55-12 victory.

Wells' win came from a few key players Carlin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Johnny Glascock, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown. Another back making a difference was Gage Uhlig, who rushed for 22 yards and a pair of TDs.

The win got Wells back to even at 5-5. As for Carlin, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Everything went Carlin's way against Wells in their previous matchup back in October, as Carlin made off with a 44-22 win. Will the Railroaders repeat their success, or do the Leopards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
