Basketball Recap: Guardian Angels Central Catholic Falls to Bergan Catholic in First Game of Season

Guardian Angels Central Catholic had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Bergan Catholic Knights on Thursday, falling 70-31. The Bluejays were down 56-28 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Guardian Angels Central Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Luke Guenther, who posted 12 points, and Hudson Bramlet, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Guenther, who earned no points and seven rebounds.

Gavin Baker was a one-man wrecking crew For Bergan Catholic. as he dropped a double-double with 26 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Baker has posted since back in January. Trey Mooney was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Guardian Angels Central Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-31 win against Wisner-Pilger on the 5th. As for Bergan Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 79-47 victory against Bancroft-Rosalie on the 6th.
