Recap: Coastal Academy Stingrays vs. Foothills Christian Knights
If the Coastal Academy Stingrays were feeling good off their 39-16 takedown of the San Pasqual Academy Dragons last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Coastal Academy took a hard 44-29 fall against Foothills Christian on Friday. Coastal Academy has not had much luck with Foothills Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Stingrays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Heiress Afalava, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Afalava is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. London Afalava was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Coastal Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Foothills Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Escondido Adventist Academy the next time they take the court. Coastal Academy will host Escondido Adventist Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Foothills Christian will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
