Cherry Creek goes overtime in return to the ice for first time in 25 years

CENTENNIAL — It was the first ice hockey game for Cherry Creek (Greenwood Village) in 25 years. So why wouldn't it go into overtime?

In a new era that opened Saturday night, the Bruins skated to a 3-3 tie with perennial power Cheyenne Mountain (Colorado Springs) in nonleague at the Family Sports Center.
