Softball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Hickman County Falcons, falling 15-6. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mayfield's record now sits at 6-4. As for Hickman County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Mayfield Cardinals duke it out with Murray Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Murray has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.14 runs per game on average), something Mayfield will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hickman County, they will square off against Carlisle County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Carlisle County has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Hickman County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
