Volleyball Recap: Meade Takes a Loss

The Meade Mustangs came up short against the Guilford Park Panther on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Meade may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 12 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-12.

Guilford Park was led to victory by Chikanele Onukwugha and Hana Yoshimura. Onukwugha hit 90% for 18 kills and six digs, five aces, and one block, while Yoshimura had four aces and three digs. That's the most aces Onukwugha has posted since back in September. Ella Wood also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Meade now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Guilford Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Meade didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Centennial on the 23rd. As for Guilford Park, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Old Mill on the 23rd.
